Hamlet the Vampire
Hamlet the Vampire - To Bite or Not To Bite is a humorous middle-grade retelling of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy Hamlet, reimagined with fangs, footnotes and a great deal of dramatic sighing.

Born on a gloomy night at Elsinore Castle, Prince Hamlet was destined for greatness. Named after his father (who is also Hamlet, naturally), young Hamlet grows up thoughtful, serious, and already slightly overwhelmed by existence.

Unfortunately, he is terrible at making decisions.

After studying at the extremely serious University of Wittenberg (where even the pigeons look intellectual), Hamlet returns home to discover something strange: his father’s ghost has a message, the castle is full of secrets, and everyone is behaving suspiciously.

With his loyal best friend Horatio (his opposite in almost every way), his delightfully confusing childhood companions Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, and the kind-hearted Ophelia by his side. Hamlet must solve a royal mystery before things spiral completely out of control and possibly a few accidental bites send the kingdom into chaos.

As loyalties are tested and secrets unravel, Hamlet must finally answer the ultimate question:

To bite… or not to bite?

A vampire prince who can’t decide anything must finally choose who he wants to be.

Blending humor with heart, this whimsical and witty retelling introduces middle-grade readers to Shakespeare’s world through friendship, loyalty, brave choices, and just the right amount of vampire drama.
